Well we rescued another pup! That brings the total to 4 dogs and two cats now... Her name is Bella and she seems to be a mastador (lab mastiff mix). More pics below!
Here she is with Chance (formerly Dyson when you first met him)
And the two of them on the bed. Already they have become buddies and are running around the house playing!

Beautiful dogs!

4 dogs, 2 cats... I’m having anxiety just thinking about that

Two of the dogs are very old and honestly we aren’t expecting them to live more than another year tops. We wanted to bring in the new puppy now to learn the rules and hopefully prevent an awkward transition. But since he was so young, he had no one to really play with. So we got her yesterday.

I just have the 4 dogs.
Cute though. “Lab mix” is code for “this thing probably has pit or some other unwanted breed in it so we’ll leave that out so it doesn’t scare people away”

Ha ha ha. That’s awesome. And yet so true.
As someone who has pits myself, this is totally an accurate representation. I love the breed, yet they get a horrible rap due to mostly stupid owners.

More dogs are always better. I currently have four myself. Thanks for doing the right thing and rescuing. It frustrates me to see people purchase dogs when there are so many in shelters that just need a little love.

They actually had her as terrier pit mix but they changed it to terrier lab mix because of that!
Poor baby was there over a month. She had puppies and then the owners “couldn’t afford to feed her” so she ended up there. But they kept the puppies...
And she is one of the sweetest dogs ever.

Three of our four right now are rescues. In fact, the one 12 year old is from the same shelter as the two above!
We do have one purebred English bulldog, just because it was one of those dogs we always wanted but we agree adopting is so much better

I have “lab mixes.” Great dogs. Years of working with dogs, never have had an issue with pits. Plenty of issues with labs.

I hate people sometimes. I know lots of people who foster or work with the shelter. So many people dump off adult dogs for puppies and give lame excuses. Or, they dump off the mutts for pure breeds.

Oddly enough, worst I’ve ever had an issue with is my damn beagle. She would attack her coonhound sister (full fledged dog fight with gaping wounds afterwords). We ended up loaning the beagle to my MIL after her died. The household is much happier for it.
Where was my pit when the fights were happening? He would run away scared. Some vicious dog he is.
